It’s not substantially quieter than other clippers. My puppy is afraid the clipper. That was the whole purpose of trying this clipper. I was trying to find a clipper that wasn’t so loud to make grooming a less stressful first experience. I think it would be fine with a more experienced dog. It doesn’t adjust evenly. I liked all the accessories that came with it, but they are on the cheap side. I suppose you get what you pay for. I’ll be taking my time for now grooming my puppy until she is more comfortable and desensitized. Small short doses. If she doesn’t calm down I can do it with the scissors .
